If you're replacing a dishwasher in Hamilton, you want to know the price before anyone comes out. Here it is. A standard dishwasher installation, where the water, drain and power are already in place, starts at $200 plus HST. That's labour only. We install, we don't sell appliances, so the dishwasher itself is never part of the price.
If you want the old dishwasher gone, removal starts at $70, disposal included. For most Hamilton homes replacing an old unit, that makes a typical swap from $270 plus HST, all in for labour and haul-away.
What the $200 covers
A standard dishwasher install is more than sliding a box into a gap. Here's what's included:
- Water and power shut off, and the old dishwasher disconnected and pulled out
- A new supply line and drain connected to your existing shut-off and drain, with the drain hose looped the way the maker's guide asks
- Power connected to the existing outlet or junction box
- The new unit levelled, lined up with the counter and cabinets, and secured with the mounting brackets
- A full test run, checking every connection for leaks

What can change the price
The "from" price is for a straight swap in the same spot. These are the things that most often add to it:
- A missing shut-off valve, outlet or drain. If the hookups aren't where the new dishwasher needs them, there's extra work before it can go in.
- Panel-ready and built-in models. Mounting a cabinet panel, setting the door spring tension and lining everything up flush takes more time than a standard unit. These are quoted from photos.
- Cabinet or counter changes. If the opening needs trimming or the counter needs work, we flag it first.
- Condo rules, long carries and stairs. Elevator bookings, building rules and tight access add time and are quoted per job.
- Taking away the old unit. From $70, disposal included.
What isn't included
Some jobs need another trade first. A first-time dishwasher where there was never one before needs water, drain and power roughed in by a plumber and an electrician before we can install it. New electrical circuits, new plumbing rough-ins and cabinet or counter modifications aren't part of an install price. Send photos and we'll tell you exactly what's missing before you book, so you're not paying for a visit that can't finish the job.

Will you take my old dishwasher away?
Yes. Ask when you book. Removal starts at $70 and includes disposal, and we take it in the same visit.
Can you install a dishwasher the same day?
