Bosch Dishwasher Installation in Hamilton and the GTA

Bosch is the dishwasher we install most often, and also the one most often installed slightly wrong. The 100, 300, 500, 800 and Benchmark series all share the same basic platform, and they're quiet because they're built to tight tolerances. That makes the install details matter: a unit that sits 3 mm out of level, a drain hose with no high loop, or a missing mounting bracket gives you the classic Bosch complaints, which are standing water, an E24 or E25 drain error, a door that drifts, or a cabinet face that swells from steam.

Price

Service Starts around
Dishwasher install (Bosch, any series) $200
Haul-away of the old unit $70

Most standard installs start around this price. Your final quote depends on access, haul-away and what's already in place, and we confirm it before booking.

What to have ready before we arrive

  • The new Bosch unboxed or ready to unbox, with the installation kit bag (brackets, screws, steam-protection foil) kept, because it's often thrown out with the packaging
  • A working shut-off valve under the sink and an existing hot water supply line to the dishwasher space
  • An existing drain connection: a disposal knockout or a sink tailpiece branch
  • An existing outlet or hardwired junction in the space. Bosch ships with a cord on most North American models
  • The cabinet opening cleared, and the old unit emptied and dry if we're removing it
  • Countertop type noted (stone or wood) so we bring the right mounting method

How we install it

  1. Measure the opening. Bosch wants a 24 in. wide opening with 33 7/8 to 34 3/4 in. of height for most models. We measure at the front and the back, because floors that were tiled after the cabinets went in often steal height at the front.
  2. Remove the old unit. We shut off the water and power, disconnect the old supply, drain and power, and protect your floor on the way out. Haul-away is $70 if you want it gone.
  3. Set the connections. We fit a new braided supply line and a 90-degree fitting, route the drain hose to make a high loop (or connect it to an existing air gap), and make the electrical connection to the existing outlet or junction.
  4. Slide, level and secure. Bosch levels from the front using the rear-leg adjuster screw at the bottom of the kick plate. We level side to side and front to back, then fix the unit to the countertop underside (laminate or wood) or the cabinet sides (stone) with the supplied brackets.
  5. Steam foil and kick plate. The adhesive steam-protection foil goes under the countertop edge so the vapour doesn't damage it. The toe kick is set to your floor height.
  6. Test run. We run a short cycle, check every joint for drips, confirm it drains with no standing water, and show you the rinse-aid and salt settings if your model has them.

Common problems we see

  • Throwing out the hardware bag. The brackets and foil come in a small bag inside the tub or taped to the side. Without them the unit can tip forward when you load the top rack.
  • Disposal knockout still in place. On a new garburator the drain knockout plug has to be punched out. Skip it and the dishwasher can't drain: E24 on the first cycle.
  • No high loop. Bosch's drain needs a loop up under the counter so dirty sink water doesn't siphon back into the tub.
  • Tiled-in floors. If new flooring was laid in front of the old dishwasher, the opening may now be too short. Check the height before you buy.
  • Stone countertops. You can't screw up into granite or quartz, so we use the side-mount brackets. That needs solid cabinet sides within reach.

What's not included

We install appliances into spaces and connections that already exist. We don't do rough-in, new plumbing or gas lines, new circuits, or cabinet and renovation work. If your space needs that first, have it done before install day and we'll take it from there.

FAQ

How long does a Bosch dishwasher install take?

Most straight swaps take 1 to 2 hours when the water, drain and power are already at the space.

Why does my new Bosch show an E24 or E25 error?

Usually it's a drain issue: an unpunched disposal knockout, a kinked hose or a missing high loop. We check all three during the install.

Do you install Bosch dishwashers under stone countertops?

Yes. Because we can't screw into stone, we use Bosch's side-mount brackets into the cabinet sides.

What does a Bosch dishwasher install cost?

Most standard installs start around $200, with haul-away of the old unit $70.
