Wolf and Thermador Wall Oven and Cooktop Installation

Wolf M and E series and Thermador Masterpiece and Professional wall ovens are heavy: a 30 in. double oven can be 250+ lb. They slide into a cabinet cutout that has to match the spec almost exactly, and they need to sit on a level shelf that can carry the weight. Cooktops drop into a counter cutout and connect to the existing gas or electrical underneath. We handle the cutout check, the lift, connecting, securing and testing.

What to have ready before we arrive

  • A cabinet cutout and counter cutout already made to the model's installation guide. We don't cut cabinets or counters
  • A level, solid oven support shelf rated for the weight (a double oven needs a strong base)
  • An existing junction box or outlet in the guide's zone (wall ovens are usually hardwired on 240 V), and an existing gas shut-off under the counter for a gas cooktop
  • For an oven under a cooktop: confirm the combination is approved in both guides
  • A clear delivery path. Wall ovens often need three people

How we install it

  1. Measure the cutouts. We check width, height, depth and square against the guide before uncrating.
  2. Remove the old unit. Disconnect, take it out of the cabinet and haul it away.
  3. Connect. The wall oven goes to the existing junction box. The gas cooktop gets a new flex connector to the existing shut-off and a leak test. An electric cooktop goes to its existing junction.
  4. Lift and set. The oven is lifted onto the support, slid in without crushing the conduit, and screwed to the cabinet through the side trim.
  5. Test. All modes are run, the doors checked, and every cooktop burner lit for flame and simmer.

Common problems we see

  • Cutout made to the wrong spec. Even 5 mm too small means the oven doesn't fit, and recutting is cabinet work.
  • Weak shelf. Many cabinet shelves sag under a double oven.
  • Conduit too short. The oven needs some slack in its whip to slide in, and the junction must be reachable.
  • Downdraft cooktops. These need cabinet space for the blower. Plan it before the cabinets are built.

Gas connections are completed by TSSA-certified gas technicians.

What's not included

We install appliances into spaces and connections that already exist. We don't do rough-in, new plumbing or gas lines, new circuits, or cabinet and renovation work. If your space needs that first, have it done before install day and we'll take it from there.
